What Will You Learn?
If you want to make the most of your bottom time and have more fun on your dives, try underwater scooter or diver propulsion vehicle (DPV) diving.
In this underwater scooter and DPV course, you will learn the skills and concepts you need to safely plan and conduct dives using scooters or DPVs. You will learn the special precautions needed for using DPVs, how to maintain buddy contact and how to control your equipment, so you can safely enjoy the new dive experiences DPVs provide.
Upon completion of this program, you will earn the SSI Scooter/DPV Diving specialty certification and be able to dive up to 30 meters deep with a scooter or DPV.
The SSI Scooter / DVP Diving Course consists of two main phases:
- One Pool / Confined Water Session
- Two Open Water Dives- Where its time to use the knowledge and skills you acquired, in the open ocean to complete the SSI Scooter / DVP Diving Course.
Maximum Training Depth : 30 meters / 100 feet
What Will You Do?
- Complete all academic sessions and assessments outlined in the instructor manual for Scooter/DPV Diving.
- Complete the program’s final exam.
- Complete at least one (1) pool/confined water session as outlined in the instructor manual for Scooter/DPV Diving.
- Complete at least two (2) open water training dives as outlined in the instructor manual for Scooter/DPV Diving
Course Schedule
Recommended hours for completion: 10-15. The number of classes, hours and sessions per day are set by the individual instructor, based on student needs, student ability and water conditions.
