What Will You Learn?
Many freedivers share a passion for deeper freediving. The SSI Freediving Level 2 program will teach you everything you need to know to increase your average breath-hold time by advancing your breath-holding techniques.

The SSI Freediving Level 2 Course consists of three main phases:
- Three Academic Sessions (Independent study or in a classroom)
- Two Pool / Confined Water Session
- Four Open Water Dives- Where its time to use the knowledge and skills you acquired, in the open ocean to complete the SSI Freediving Level 2 Course.
Maximum Training Depth : 30 meters / 100 feet
What Will You Do?
- Complete all academic sessions and assessments as outlined in the instructor manual for Freediving Level 2.
- Complete the program’s final exam.
- Complete at least one (1) stretching session as outlined in the instructor manual for Freediving Level 2.
- Complete at least two (2) pool/confined water sessions as outlined in the instructor manual for Freediving Level 2.
- Complete at least four (4) open water sessions as outlined in the instructor manual for Freediving Level 2.
Course Schedule
Recommended hours for completion: 24-30. The number of classes, hours and sessions per day are set by the individual instructor, based on student needs, student ability and water conditions.

Course Prerequisites
Minimum age:
- 15 years old.
- Have logged at least six (6) in-water freediving sessions.
Have the following SSI certifications or equivalent from a recognized training agency:
- Freediving Level 1
Equipment Requirements
Unless the program-specific instructor manual states otherwise, each freediving student must be equipped with a properly fitted Total Freediving System, including:
• Mask
• Snorkel
• Bi-fins(standard length or long freediving fins)
• Exposure suit appropriate for the environment
• Weight System
• Logbook
Students are required to wear a freediving safety lanyard if any of the following conditions apply:
• Level 2 Freediving programs and higher
• Vertical visibility is less than 10 meters
• The planned freedive is deeper than 20 meters in depth
• On any site where the natural bottom depth is 30 meters or deeper
*Equipment will be provided by your Dive Centre. We recommend that you should get your own gear once you become a certified diver.
