What Will You Learn?
If you cannot decide which specialty programs are the best choice for you, join the SSI Advanced Adventurer program! With this program, you can try a variety of specialties before committing to full specialty programs. It is a great way to experience what advanced diver training is all about and how valuable it can be to your diving adventures.
During the Advanced Adventurer Program, you will try out 5 different specialties. You will complete one open water training dive per specialty after a comprehensive briefing with your SSI Instructor.
With this trial program in specialty diving, you will have total freedom to explore. You can complete the full specialty programs any time in the future and credit your Advanced Adventurer training towards them.
The SSI Advance Adventurer Course consists of two main phases:
- Five Academic Sessions (Independent study or in a classroom)
- Five Open Water Dives- Where its time to use the knowledge and skills you acquired, in the open ocean to complete the SSI Advance Adventurer Course.
Maximum Training Depth : 30 meters / 100 feet
What Will You Do?
- Complete any academic sessions and assessments as outlined in the instructor manual for Advanced Adventurer.
- Complete at least five (5) different SSI Adventure Dives, including a professional briefing and debriefing, as outlined in the instructor manual for Advanced Adventurer or applicable specialty instructor manual.
Course Schedule
Recommended hours for completion: 10-15. The number of classes, hours and sessions per day are set by the individual instructor, based on student needs, student ability and water conditions.

Course Prerequisites
Minimum age for each Adventure Dive :
- 15 Years
Have at least one (1) oft he following SSI certifications or an equivalent from a recognized training agency:
- Open Water Diver
- Junior Open Water Diver
Equipment Requirements
*Equipment will be provided by your Dive Centre. We recommend that you should get your own gear once you become a certified diver.
